My Favorite Films

Here is my favorite films of all time. If there are any of your favorite films are not mentioned here, it's because either I haven't watched it (I told you, I haven't watched a lot of good films) or they are just not my taste. Gonna update this page regularly after I watched any other new lovable films. Listed in alphabetical order.

(500) Days of Summer
"(500) Days of Summer"
2009 | USA | Dir: Marc Webb
It's both romantic and heart-breaking. For me it's the closest, most realistic romance. Any similarities to my real life? Keep questioning.

2001: A Space Odyssey
"2001: A Space Odyssey"
1968 | USA | Dir: Stanley Kubrick
A fascinating, eyegasmic experience given by the past. Very thoughtful, an ultimate trip that goes beyond imagination.

3 Hati Dua Dunia, Satu Cinta
"3 Hati Dua Dunia, Satu Cinta"
2010 | Indonesia | Dir: Benni Setiawan
Even a multicultural, cross-religion love could melt into such a light, humorous film like this one. My favorite local film.

A Serious Man
"A Serious Man"
2009 | USA | Dir: Joel Coen & Ethan Coen
You had a series of misfortune, you went to see some spiritual advice, and you got nothing. Sometimes you are actually the one that chooses distress instead of humor.

Fight Club
"Fight Club"
1999 | USA | Dir: David Fincher
I have never seen a film so destructive. Make you think out of your whole life. Remember the rule: you do not talk about fight club.

Mary & Max
"Mary & Max"
2009 | Australia | Dir: Adam Elliot
How a seemingly childish, somewhat underrated clay animation could teach us better than any films. This is the truest friendship told so wittily.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"
2013 | USA | Dir: Ben Stiller
Call it cliche, call it ambitious, call it cheap. Yet it inspires me to escape myself from my (boring) work life. And yours, too.

The Shawshank Redemption
"The Shawshank Redemption"
1994 | USA | Dir: Frank Darabont
Fear can hold you prisoner, hope can set you free. Just tell me if you are not motivated after watching it.

The Social Network
"The Social Network"
2010 | USA | Dir: David Fincher
It's hilarious how I could remember all the lines in the "full attention" scene. My very first favorite. "Did I adequately answer your condescending question?"

WALL-E
"WALL-E"
2008 | USA | Dir: Andrew Stanton
Please, look at his sorrowful eyes. You can't help but showing your sympathy. I adore Pixar for bringing big ideas with reference to classics in this melancholic animation.
